Y weird.

Six weird facts/things/habits about yourself:

  1. My name. My parents are more westernized and didn't include a chinese name. For example, Ben's full name is Benjamin Teh Jin Liang. Whereas all you see on my birth certificate is Desiree Anne Tee. In fact, they didn't even give me a chinese name till I started schooling and needed one. I think if it wasn't a requirement, I probably wouldn't have a chinese name now. - Desiree because it means desired and I'm the first child. Anne because they felt that Desiree Tee sounded weird and it's also my mum's name. I love my name and my parents for giving me such a name! By the way, my sister's full name is somewhat similar, Denise Su-Ann Tee.

  2. My colour coordination. If you observe my attire, usually three of the following items are the same colour - top or bottom/jacket or shawl/hair accessory/earrings/hand bag/shoes. As a result, if I really like something, I might buy it in a few different colours to accommodate my colour coordination. For example, my strappy high heels from U.R.S.; I bought all 3 colours - red, white and black. If you ever see me wearing mismatched clothing, either I'm really troubled by something or I've become colour blind.

  3. My style of eating. I'm not sure about this because I don't notice my reflection while I'm eating, but I can tell you what friends have said. Apparently, I have an abnormal way of eating compared to the typical Singaporean. I think my friend was trying to say that it's rather ladylike. Another friend said that the way I eat makes the food I'm eating look so utterly delicious that he wants to eat it too. *shrugs* I guess I live to eat, not eat to live.

  4. My love for bread. White, brown, wholemeal, wholegrain, wheatgerm, sourdough; focaccia, pitas, naan, dosai, tortillas, ciabatta, bagels, baguettes, rolls, crepes, pizzas, biscuits, pretzels and many, many more. There is something intoxicating about going into a bakery and breathing in the fragrance of freshly baked bread. Have you ever tried freshly baked bread? A crunchy crust with a warm, soft and chewy centre, mm mmm... heavenly. I've even "snacked" on freshly baked plain, white bread and finished the whole loaf before I knew it. It might seem crazy, but to me, it's about appreciating the good things in life.

  5. My nails. I used to bite my nails when I was younger. Adults always say that you'll end up with ugly looking nails, but mine aren't. Surprisingly, my nails turned out rather nice. To top it off, I can keep them nice and long and still wash my clothes, cook and bake, without any trouble at all.

  6. My obsession with high-heeled shoes. It doesn't matter that I'm considered tall for a Singaporean girl and that I don't need to wear heels to improve my height or to give the illusion of long legs. Nor does it matter that I've fallen down stairs and gotten a bruise the size of my hand or gotten into countless other embarrassing situations because of my high heels. Nonetheless, I still love buying and wearing high heels and I don't think I'll ever stop. So to all the guys out there who are shorter than me, if you aren't okay with the fact that I'm taller than you, then don't even bother approaching me, coz I'll always be taller than you. (I know... I'm such a bitch yeah.) =p

Honestly, I don't really feel that these things are weird, maybe unique would be a better word. After all, it's just part and parcel of being me.

Y sleep.

I haven't been sleeping well these past few weeks. I think I'm falling ill and losing my voice yet again.
Fell down the stairs at work resulting in a cut on my right shin, a bruise next to my right knee and another bigger bruise (roughly the same size as the container of Zam-Buk) on my left shin.
Remember the bruise I got the last time I went to MoS? It hurts, still.

Y

Drove past Seletar Reservoir on the way to work. There was something very tranquil about the "lake", the water sprinklers gently watering the Orchid Country Club Golf Course, the white fluffy clouds scattered across the blue sky.
I was thinking about my father and sister. Strange how we each seem to be going through something somewhat similar.
Sometimes I feel so tired of it all. Sometimes I feel like I want to sleep and never wake up. Maybe that way I won't feel anything. Then again, maybe not.

Y ministry of sound.

Nightclub.
"An establishment that stays open late at night and provides food, drink, entertainment, and music for dancing."

The lights have been set.

The decor prepared.

The dancefloor beckons.

Our feet awaken!

part one;

Ben. Calvin. Wilson. Joanna. Elke. Me. Bryan. Joseph.

The gayfather alone is crazy. Put these four together and you will be swept away.

Chilling is their forte.

The ladies, minus Michelle.

The gentlemen. *cough*

If I might say so, a lady and her knight.

The dance partners.

Levi's underwear. *drools*

Dawn. A perfect beginning to a lovely ending or a perfect ending to a lovely beginning.
I'll leave that up to you.
"Every beginning ends some thing."

31st March. 1st time I went to MoS. Left early around 2am because I didn't feel comfortable, but glad I went anyways. Made some awesome friends and formed the clubbing crew.

Y

part two;

Wilson. Joshua. Elke. Audrey. Ben. Me.

Birthday babe and her stunning outfit!

The couples
Joshua & Elke? Definitely! ^^

Ben & I? Haha rite... =p

Audrey & Wilson? o.O Just kidding!

Clubbing tradition: one for the guys and one for the girls.
Guys.

Girls.

Wilson is the life of the party.

He also insisted on being in every photo.

Even when we were trying to get one of the hunky number seven alone.

A lovely memory.

Elke grimacing, but still looking extremely babelicious while doing so.

Audrey, Ben and I having a little fun.

But we gals realised that we could do better without the poor guy.

I just realised that I'm wearing the T-shirt that was looking at Wilson.

Prezzies!

Sweet Secrets for the chocoholic.

14th June. Elke's 16th birthday. 2nd time at MoS. Ladies night. Unforgettable memories before, during and after.

Y

part three;

Me. Elke. Keane. Ben.

Dinner at Plaza Singapura.

With Ben Ben.

We decided not to get coffee. For Ben's sake.

He was grateful.

Elke and Ben convinced me to be the first on the dancefloor.

I regretted it the second I stepped in.

But they helped ease my awkwardness.

And we had fun for a while, before it started getting crowded.

There were entertaining moments. The screaming girls and annoying guys.

The hilarious dancers and awkward ones.

Once again, the guys.

And the girls.

Looking good babe!

8th July. 3rd time at MoS. Had fun in the beginning, but didn't end too well. Got stepped on the same spot a few times by girls clad in high heels. Still have a red bruise to show for it. A little too crowded for my liking. Went down to PartyWorld at Shenton Way to accompany Lynette after. Yiting's personal friend, Jeff Wang, was there with his girlfriend. Great company and lots of laughs, but unfortunately I couldn't appreciate it. Thoughts filled my mind and sadness filled my heart. Perhaps I should just wait and see.

Y fairy tale.

Beneath the starry sky, a princess sits by the beach, deep in thought. There she waits for someone, her prince. Perhaps she'll spend the rest of her life waiting. Perhaps she's already met him. Perhaps she's made a mistake by starting a fairy tale. After all, fairy tales are all lies. It's only a matter of time before she wakes up and realises that it's just a dream.

A wish.

Y table bbq/steamboat.

Dinner at Marina South with the gang - Elke & Joshua, Audrey, Joanna, Michelle, Ben and Wilson. Organised by Wilson who set the time to meet from 6-7pm. Don't ask me why. He ended up being the last to arrive. Too much food and loads of laughter. Lots of jokes flying across the table. Hilarious times. (Stole some photos from Ben's blog.)

We had to cut and clean the crabs ourselves. Interesting experience.

The spread.

Wilson bought napkins and bottled drinks. Ingenious.

Ben not being careful and burning his tongue in the process. Funny moment.

My sexy lady, Audrey.

She was fascinated by my Tinkerbell earring.

The crazy babes, Michelle and Joanna, who both happen to love eating liver.

Wilson was peeling prawns for the ladies and enjoying every minute of it.

Yeah, he's definitely feeling it.

The sweet couple, Joshua & Elke.

The clubbing babes. Reunited at last.
