Y move.

I was feeling a little wired yesterday afternoon and getting myself worked up over little things. Might have been because I had just taken my medication, or because today is my last day at HBO+EMTB and I'm going to miss all of them, or because I just think too much. I needed to get my mind off all this, so I simply played my current favourite techno/dance song, set it to repeat and listened to it the whole afternoon.

Have you ever come across a song whereby you can just imagine what you should be doing while listening to it? Well, that's what happened to me when I first listened to Come Together by Move. This song falls under my "blasting" list; the kind I would definitely want to blast while I'm driving in a convertible with the top down, the wind sweeping my hair back, wearing a cool pair of shades, and just cruising along the highway. No, I'm not an "ah lian" and if you think that I'm just being a "poser", that's too bad for you. I just enjoy eurobeat, jap techno/rock songs and dance songs in general. Check it out for yourself.

Come Together by Move.
I don't really fancy the video. The opening is interesting but that's about it. It's the song I love.

Out Of Control by Move.
This music video is cool! Interesting concept. Don't care much for the song itself though.

A lot of their songs are in the Japanese Anime, Initial D. Maybe that's why I like them so much. Nice cars, awesome driving, fast songs, how can you beat that?

Y small world.

"People often complain about what a small world we've got.
Me?
I'd rather have it small and have met you than to have it so big, but missed knowing you."

To all my friends, muahz! The weekend is finally here! ^^

Y joanna; sweetie.

We look good. Wouldn't you agree?

Last Thursday at work, I was in the ladies when I noticed that the girl behind me looked familiar. Imagine my astonishment when she turned around and it was Joanna! It turns out that she's serving her internship at the law firm in the next unit. How coincidental!

I was first introduced to Joanna earlier this year when we went clubbing at Ministry Of Sound. However, she seemed vaguely familiar and when we had a girl session over lunch on Wednesday, we realised that we are connected in more ways than one. This is our little web.

Let's start with Shaun, one of Joanna's ex boyfriends. His father and mine used to be colleagues and our younger brothers were in the same class in ACJS and later in the same secondary school, ACS Barker. I might have even seen Shaun around since I was in Methodist Girls' School, the sister school of ACS. But the first time I really saw him was at his father's wake.

Joanna and Shaun used to be from BPMC and they moved to Riverlife. This is where I really got to know Shaun as my ex boyfriend, Roy, was good friends with him. After which, Roy and I moved to BPMC where I met Ben and Elke. In the midst of this, I got to know Joanna's good friend, Sophie, when we were both working at DHL. Things didn't work out with Roy, so I moved back to Riverlife, where I would occasionally bump into Sophie.

The strangest thing is that throughout all these years, I never got to know Joanna! Oh well, better late than never yeah! Haha. I'm glad we were finally introduced this year and that we are getting to know each other now. Take care my sweet friend!

Y family.

I just want to say that I love my family. Mess with anyone of them and you're going to have to deal with me. I'm not to be taken lightly and you'll find out what I'm truely capable of. Got that? Good.

"A family is a unit composed not only of children but of men, women, an occasional animal, and the common cold."

-Ogden Nash

The quote is so true! My sister has been sick for the past week and she passed her cough to me. As a result, I lost my voice! Not exactly very good timing as I'm supposed to go clubbing this Friday and Saturday night. Oh well, doesn't matter because I'm definitely going to party! Audrey babe, we're going to have so much fun! Hehe.

Y denise's birthday.

part one;

BBQ. My sister wanted to have a bbq to celebrate her birthday, but most of her friends didn't turn up and we had way too much food leftover. Having said that, she did enjoy herself and that's all that matters.

Isn't she a sweetie?

Chocolate and Cookies & Cream ice cream cake. Yummy!

The family.

Guess who else celebrated her birthday on the 23rd of June, Selma Blair!

This babe just turned 34!

Y

part two;

Steamboat. The three ladies present were all not feeling well, so it was up to the gentlemen to try and soothe us. My sister kept us entertained with "Days of Her Life". Alot of sad stories, but I seriously hope that the happy ones will quickly outnumber them.

The guys did a good job of finishing everything.

My gorgeous sister, Denise.

Who did some major shopping and spent alot of money.

My confidante and the other victim of the flu bug, Lynette.

Looking a bit uncle-ish, Ben.

Y

part three;

Beijing duck. My dad brought us to Min Jiang at Rochester Park for our family celebration. Love the ambience and the food was great! More info and photos on the place later.

Beijing Duck. There's a whole page in the menu on the traditional ways of eating it.

Durian Pudding, served with mango-filled springrolls. Durian lovers will absolutely adore this.

Mango Pudding, served with fresh fruits. How can you not love mango pudding?

Y

Happy Birthday my dearest Denise! I hope that despite everything that isn't going well in your life, you will still be happy. I love you and I'll always be here for you, no matter what. Muahz.

Y daddy.

Just wanted to wish all the daddies out there, Happy Belated Father's Day! To my surprise, my dad actually gave me a gift when it should have been the other way around; a really cool and unexpected present!

Platinum Membership at California Fitness! Awesome!
How cool is that!

"I cannot believe that anyone can deserve you... But it seems I am overruled. So, I heartily give my consent. I could not have parted with you, my Lizzie, to anyone less worthy."

-Mr Bennet, Pride & Prejudice

I was touched by this sentence because I hope that I have this kind of relationship with my father; for him to say these things when my future husband and I ask for his blessings.

I would say that my dad is rather hip and funky. Believe it or not, people have asked if the two of us are together. So either I look really old or he looks really young, I'll leave that up to you. We haven't always been this close, especially when my parents were getting divorced and such, but I'm glad that we are now. He took a few months' leave just to look after me when I was born, isn't that so sweet?

I realise that he may never read this, but I just want to say, I love you daddy! You rock! Call me a daddy's girl if you wish, I don't mind. After all, every girl is her daddy's little princess.

Daddy and I.

Y journey.

Dear Reader:
I've always had a desire to create a blog, but I didn't wish to just document the normal day-to-day activities of an average female girl, so I filed the idea away for future use. Earlier this year, when I chose a different path in life, inspiration suddenly hit me; I could create a travel diary of sorts!

Oh the delight and excitement at being able to embark on a new project! But it was short-lived as disappointment struck yet again and my travels had to be put on hold. Undaunted by this, I decided to just go ahead and start a blog. However, I still wish to have something different, something more than just a journal. So perhaps an apt way to describe my blog would be "an elegant tapestry of quotations, musings, aphorisms, and autobiographical reflections" (James Atlas).

Having said all that, welcome to the journey of my life. This is for you, my dear reader. Thank you for taking the time to read through my blog. Thank you for being a part of this new chapter in my life. Lastly, but definitely not the least, to all those who have inspired me and continue to do so, thank you.

-Lady D of RiverVale
